At last! Finally a DAB radio that not only sounds good and warm, but also looks and feels amazing - just run your fingers over that well-crafted, walnut woodwork, pausing momentarily to turn that eminently twiddle-able Henry Kloss tuner. This is one to fondle all right, one you quite fancy slipping into FM now and then, just for the hell of it. Silky-smooth and sensuous, they ought to get Nigella Lawson to promote it: ‘A kitchen radio you want to leave on awhile, as the dinner guests start to arrive…’ An ice-melter in every sense.
Does anyone else share my fantasy?

Couldn't have put it better myself, Jim! I totally agree - it's a cracking little radio. The sound is amazing - can't believe I'm getting such a full sound from that dinky single speaker on the top.
Only problem? VERY expensive. I've had to go out and buy some new trousers 'cause the radio has burnt a hole in the pockets of my last pair (well, not really, but thought I'd join you in a little poetic licence).

I know this sounds a bit nerdy but I wondered if the time is illuminated at night?
I want to use the Tivoli as a bedside clock radio and need to know I can look over at it at 4.17am and be comforted that i have another 3hrs and 14min of sleep left.
I can see that it is illuminated when the power is on but is there an option for it to remain so on 'standby'?
cheers for any help before i spend the £££

Can you tell me please if it works underwater? thanks, Mandy.

 |
Nope, but apparently it's dolphin-friendly.

"Can you please tell me if it works underwater?"
Mandy - Why would you want it to work underwater? I honestly can't think of any reason to have a bedside/kitchen radio underwater, unless of course you're a fish. Please enlighten me!

ha the moment of truth, to come clean. I confess that I am not a fish. I think the condition for entry into the competition to win this marvellous and much desired piece of technology, was that we had to sing its praises and write something vaguely intelligent about it in the forum. As I am blessed with an IQ not dissimilar to that of a goldfish, this was the best I could come up with. Anyway, an underwater DAB radio would be a novelty, and would surely find a flourishing market in the Scuba diving community. So now you know. all the best, Mandy.

Haha, love the honesty! The competition ends today I think so we'll soon see if your theory is correct...

Furthermore, and this is great news for allergy sufferers, it seems that the Tivoli DAB Radio contains no known allergens, so we can relax and listen to pure digital sound without those annoying interruptions of sneezing, nose-blowing, wheezing and coughing.
|
 |
Well you say that, but it's the UNKNOWN allergens you've got to be careful of...
