Can I get a decent 36' Flat screen for under a Grand?

Would like to turn my room around mainly to get an improvement in stereo with slightly different speaker positions, but it means getting a flat screen LCVD or Plasma so I can wall mount it above my fire place (I do not use the fire)

I can not justify doing it unless I can get everything all in for under a Grand including a couple of years warrantee. I only want a 36/37 inch unit, any recommendations or have I got a while to wait yet.

I love the way you say I ONLY want a 36/7 inch unit, thats huge! Anyhow you'll be quite pushed to get one for £1000, there is this offering at empire direct that comes in exactly on budget. However, it lacks features such as HDMI. If you could stretch your budget to a few hundred more you could have a far greater choice and more 'future proof' products.

Oh yeah meant to say that if you can't expand your budget look at the possibility of a smaller screen: 32" is pretty big, even 28" is no small fry.

Cheers I wuld still need the wall bracket so anothe £200 or so, I will have to wait till after christmass and see what is about then.

Good thinking Paul, the January sales are always a good idea - if you still have a penny to your name left after christmas!

I'm like that too. I try to wait for the sales season if I want to buy expensive electrical goods. I don't normally buy them at the full price unless my current machine breaks down.

I know it sounds like I'm a cheapskate, but I do have Scottish genes in me! :p
