Problem with Marantz CD 67 SE Player

Can anyone help me out with a problem I've encountered with my Marantz separates CD player. It's a CD 67 SE and it now refuses to play anything and just shows the word "disk" in the display. I've tried using a disk/cleaner but the problem seems to be that it isn't spinning the disk at all as the cleaner doesn't play and fix the problem and comes out in exactly the same position as I put it in. I'm a bit miffed as I only use the system about once a month so it hasn't exactly been hammered.

Any help greatly apprieciated.

Gary

Hi Gary,

I am suffering the same problem with my Marrantz CD67 SE. Once you load a CD in the player it does not play and only displays the word 'disk' on the display. Did you ever manage to fix the issue ??

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

No I haven't solved it. I purchased a cleaning cd and solution but when I insert the cd it doesn't even spin the disk as it always comes back out in exactly the same position.

I know if I send it to a repair centre it will cost me an arm and a leg & that I might be better just purchasing a new one but all my separates are Marantz and I'd struggle to get one to match.

I wish I could find a number for Marantz support - Any ideas ?

Hi Gary,

The only number i can find on the web is
01753 680868 www.marantz.co.uk.

It does sound like there is an inherent problem with this CD Player, im sure we are not the only ones suffering the same issue !

Andrew

hi,
i had the same problem with this cd player.i found that you could still get it to work by repeatedly pressing the play button on the remote for about half an hour!
i got fed up with this and bought a new player.

hello,

i have read your problem with cd 67 SE you may watch out with Marantz because for many year ago (80')they do not make truly HI FI products anymore, it is just a fancy brand with some good past reputation. The best cd players you can buy in the market for a budget price are Harman Kardon and Denon...the rest forget it! I think your cd player needs a new laser ! that is the problem !

Some one has information about Marantz PM 54 SE amplifiers ?

I have the same problem on CD63 SE after about 4 years of using it. Fix it by sent to Marantz and change the laser.

Hey, I may have a solution for you. If you look in the tray, there are 4 rubber stoppers. U might have lost one and thus the cd is improperly aligned. Mine did that, but I managed to find the stopper.

Hi
I have just bought a 67SE second hand. It sounds great but won't play all my computer recorded music discs and won't allow me to select tracks on some of these. Any ideas?
