I have a Cambridge Azur 540R AV Reveiver and want to change my front speakers. Can anyone give me some advice as to what would compliment well ... we like our music pretty loud and don't use a sub-woofer at the moment for home cinema. Any help really appreciated!

I have some £500 Focal jm lab Chorus floorstanders, selling them for around £300. Let me know.

Try Celestion F30 floorstander's from Richer Sounds £199 superb and an absolute bargain, nothing as good this side of £500 a real bargain buy

Daniel,i also have the matching Focal cc 700 centre speaker, so if youre changing the front 2 of your kit, you really should have a matching centre,( ask anyone in the know)
If you bought both together, id do you a really good price . Total price was around £750 you can have both for £400 !!!Let me know.( both purchased about 6 months ago, mint condition, not used for last 3 months.)

I would listen very seriously to the Rega's, and try and get a home dem. I have a pair on the end of a all rega set up, and they are not short of bass. Work on the position a little, at first listen they can sound a bit light, but I feel it is mare a case of them being very nimble and dynamic. They make a lot of other speakers seem slow and wollowy. They share more cherectaristics with a good stand mount than with floostanders.

Daniel,

I hope you've snapped icehockeyboys hand off. He is offering a real bargain. He dosen't say which floorstanders (I'm guessing the 714s) but they all possess quality drivers, especially the tweeter and a finish to match

They're not the most well known line over here yet but that's changing.

Yes they are the 714's, strange coincidence here,i also listened to the Regas at the same time as the focals, you can see the choice i made!(not a sales ploy!) hurry tho' cos im in the final throws of arranging to meet with a guy next week wpo wants to buy them, again, not a sales ploy! What would swing the sale in this situation is if someone bought the centre from me as well.

Ah, but Colin, i have that syndrome called "swopitis" and upgraded to the Quad 22L. It seems i never keep anything that long, no matter how good i though it was ( at the time)

IHB - how about a review of the Quad 22Ls? Hi Fi Bitz are offering a great deal on these (and other Quad speakers) at the moment.

Erm......ive since sold these too!!I now have PMC FB1s...however, when im not in such a hurry, ill do a past tense review of the 22L's.

hunt the online auctions you could get a pair of nice b&w 603s. they are pretty easy to drive and will make your ears bleed

Can I recommend the Castle compact columns selling for £550? I am thoroughly enjoying mine.
