The JBL loudspeaker has Mylar&pure titanium double tweeters, so the treble from loudspeakers should be clear. HK has a smooth and not so forward treble. Your CD and interconnection and loudspeaker cables also affect sound quality and may make the treble harsh or too bright. Playing CDs with a standard cheap CD player means that high frequencies sound muddled or harsh or both. You can't reproduce 5 kHz or 10 kHz sound with only 44,1 kHz sampling frequency and CD player's filters destroy the sound even more, and then the added harshness from cheap cables. JBL speakers are good for rock and pop. If you pick overly detailed classical music loudspeakers, it may be it isn't nice to listen to them in longer term.
