Denon PMA1500AE + JBL L830

hi,

I'm casual music listener. My gf and I decided to buy a hi-fi set.

We went to a shop today and we came out with:

Denon PMA1500AE (amp)
+
Denon DCD1500AE (player)
+
JBL L830.

As the salesman only shows me brands like Infinity / Denon / JBL. the price tag is about 1300 pound.

Any advice?
how about B&W speakers?
is Denon 1500AE amplifier ok?
The salesman did say that Denon DCD1500AE CD player is a bit expensive. What other choice i have?
