It's all very well having a dvdrecorder with 1 digital tuner built in, but unless you have a IDTV.
You can only record the channel your watching, most people want too watch one channel & record something on the otherside.
When are they going too start making these dvdrecorders with twin dital tuners.

well, think about it... how many recorders have *ever* got twin tuners??

the only ones I know are those VCR/TV in one box things... and some of the cheaper ones dont either!!

Well those Pace freeview & skytv harddrive boxes have twin digital tuners in them so why has'nt some company put them in their dvdrecorders.

thats about it, I think... I havent heard about the pace twin for ages, and then only stuff about how expensive, or buggy, it was...

The sky+ may be great, but the problem is how to archive stuff - it is saved in encrypted format, so not that easy... and when you get no signal, you can't watch your recordings!!

I have the latest cable box from TW with 3 tuners ie watch and pause live TV whilst recording 2 other channels, and it is HD compatable and their is HD content to view already. But same old problem is archiving saved content as the hard drive records upto 80hrs im going to need quite a few DVD-r's. Waiting now for Blueyray recorder????

bluray? ROFL ROFL !! dont hold your breath! - unless you have more money than sense.....

Just think back to when DVDRs were announced, when a 'not very capable' one came out, and now, when they are only just getting easy enough to use properly... at a price...

Can anyone give me some advice? I have previously had an analogue TV connected to a freeview box and have been able to record TV programmes via DVD recorder and video recorder. I recently bought a digital TV and can play videos and DVDs, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to record with either DVD or video. I was coming to the conclusion it wasn't possible until I read the Guide to recording digital TV. I am hoping therefore it's just that I can't figure it!

When I connected as per usual, with TV aerial going through either DVD recorder or video, plus scarts, I lose the TV signal altogether. Can someone help please?

Similar problem, nothing on for days then four things on all at the same time. Thus far no problem, daisy chain 4 VHS recorders together via the aerial socket and for less than £150 you can record 4 channels at once and watch sky (where all the good stuff is!). Problem is this is all analogue TV and i understand is useless if i change to Freesat via sky or sky proper. But then i end up with only one tuner, the sky box, and only my PVR will work!

HEELP! I don't know enough about digital and how the signal gets to the TV to work this one out save using 4 devices each with their own digital tuner.

I'm trying to find a single box at the moment that has two Freeview tuners, a HDD and will write to DVD too, and can't find anything. Surely people don't all have these boxes *as well* as another Freeview box just in case they want to watch another channel? Are there any contenders which fit my specifications that I might just have missed?

I am considering purchasing a hard drive recorder with freeview. I already have a satellite box but have discontinued my subscription. I would like to still retain the satellite system as well as use the hard drive with freeview because there are channels on free to air satellite that are not on freeview. Is it possible to connect the hard drive with freeview and satellite box to one T.V.?

Haydn Williams: Unless you live in 'border' or wales, there is no 'mad panic' to get a Freeview tuner... better devices are coming out soon - The best thing is to look for 'What satellite & digital TV' Magazine - www.wotsat.com

They have just got a look at the Virgin Freeview box there!!

The april edition has the 'best hardware awards' listed, also lots about Freeview and freesat...

and if you could mention the **full name & specs** of what you are using / hope to buy , it would help.... :)
