I have owned this superb bit of kit for a couple of weeks and absolutely love it. I don't know if i'm a bit thick, but I cannot fathom how to extend the recording time, so keep missing the end of programmes due to overun. Can anyone help please?

I have a 8000T and have had the same problem so I always go into the "scheduled recordings" in the REC menu and add a couple of minutes there.

I've been considering the Humax but am concerned about the potential noise from the hard disk. I've just spent plenty on new fans, power supply and hard disc enclosure on my computer to reduce noise so I know I'm picky.

Any comments from users on how much noise you can hear, or how other Freeview + HDD options compare?

Can only report on the Humax 8000t which is sitting on an open shelf under the TV - all I can say is my wife can't hear it and there's no harsher critic than that!

I have had my Humax 9200t for some weeks now having given up on the panasonic tucth100 because it will not work properly until panasonic upgrade the software. The Humax is brilliant and you cannot hear it in operation. Thoroughly recommended

I am thinking of purchasing one but wanted to be sure that yu can record SKY tv on to the hard drive whilst watching a terestrial channel.

To record sky you need a sky+ recorder. You cannot record from an external source onto any pvr that I am aware of.

The Humax seems to be the business. However I wd like a PVR that can also record to dual-layer DVD from its hard drive(from what Ive read, the standard DVD single layer can only take about an hours recording in quality mode, no good for movies and so on). This would be a perfect arrangement! Any suggestions please?

A pvr is a hard drive recorder mostly now with two freeview tuners but no dvd recorder. No dvd recorder at present has two freeview tuners. Many have only an analogue tuner. I am not aware of any dual layer dvd recorders available at present.
You can actually store up to two hours of good quality recordings on a single layer dvd.

I transfer recorded material from my Humax, to my Pioneer 420 H dvd recorder, and 2 hrs fits onto a single layer dvd.

Hi, my opinion of the Humax 9200t has somewhat diminished in the last couple of months, the picture freezes on a regular basis, which means turning the unit off at the mains, the EPG then sometimes take several hours to reload. Also intermittent loss or remote control function.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

My wife and I both have a Humax 9200t. She does experience occasional freeze ups but I never do. Both sets are run from the same upgraded aerial (£200 fitted), and I think you must have a god signal to avoid problems with pvrs. However I have a mains filter block supplying my machine whereas my wife justs plugs straight into the mains. I wonder if this could be relevant?

To extend recording times simply start recording then press the record button again and while the end time is on the screen quickly press the right directional arrow which is to the right of the ok button and you can go up in 10 minute intervals.Hope that helps

Please could you tell me if the 9200t can record from an external input; eg a VCR via scart or composit?

Also, can you tranfer the recordings on the hdd to a PC? Are they in editable mpeg format?

Hi, I seem to have solved the problem of pvr freezing,I went into the installation menu,and restored the default settings and no problems now for several months.

I have a problem with the quietness of the source from my 9200T. When I go back to analogue the sound is deafening. Can anyone help me? Other than that, this is a great machine. I'll put up a mini review shortly.
