--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm off to Italy in a couple of weeks as part of the Paralympic Team. In the village they provide live CATV feeds of all the action that is going on. I wan't to record some of this footage for technical review (to suss out the opposition) and for archive purposes.
Apparenlty the CATV feed will come via a wall mounted socket and coax - no decoder box or tuner. I've never had cable so am really in the dark here.
My question is will I be able to use my GXD500 DVD Recorder to record any footage? It has a digital freeview tuner built in and as far as I can tell can't tune to analogue tv signals.
If I buy or borrow or rent another recorder (I'm looking to purchase a HDD DVD Recorder combo soon, this may force the issue) what would the key specifications need to be?
I know that UK uses PAL-I and Italy uses PAL-BGH does this present a problem in recording and playback?
Are there other questions that I should be asking?
Many thanks for your help.
