I am interested in buying a Packard Bell DVD recorder with hard disc, model number EHR2080. Can anyone tell me anything about this machine/ Is it noisy, how easy isit to use, and what is the quality of the picture.

Hi Andrew, although I haven't used that particular model I did review one of Packard Bell's DVD players a while back and found it to be a good performer for the price:

Picture quality was particularly good with progressive scan enabled and although it wasn't the greatest looking machine, it did the job. I'll see if I can get the EHR2080 in for review if you like.

Thanks for your comments, greatly appreciated. i don't know how much bother it would be putting you to but I would be delighted if you could give a crit. on the EHR2080. One question I would like to ask about the other Packard Bell recorders was quite simply were they noisy?

Yes it is very noisy. The fan can be heard on quiet parts of a movie. You can't copy from Dvd to HD like you can with Liteon. Get a Liteon.
