ArmourHome has released an iPod dock that takes standard performance to a new level with the Eos system and a range of remote speakers.
Using Wi-Fi tech, the Eos Pod dock links up to four stereo remote wireless speakers to deliver audio all over your home.
Using the company's GigaWave technology, Armour promises interference-free CD level sound quality (48kHz) with error correction and a unique frequency-hopping scheme for a range of up to 50m through walls and ceilings and other such obstacles.
At the heart of the Eos system is the Pod dock with built-in stereo speakers and subwoofer, 3.5mm jack for connecting headphones or any other music-playing source.
There's SRS WOW sound enhancement too, which is handily transmitted to the remote speakers too.
Speaking of which, the remote wireless speakers boast dual high performance stereo drivers and a ported sub. There's also a removable, integrated power supply so you can mount it directly on a wall power supply without brackets or just stick it on the sideboard. Sound quality from speakers and dock is claimed to be 'best in class'.
IntelliTouch Executive VP Jeff O'Shea comments: 'As good as the sound quality is, what is truly phenomenal is Eos' audio link. The Eos system broadcasts impeccable CD quality sound throughout the home - without the expense and hassle of drilling through walls and running wires. Forget everything you've ever experienced with wireless speaker systems of the past; Eos' wireless technology has to be heard to be believed'.
Retail for the core system (the dock and one wireless speaker system) is £250. Up to three further wireless speakers can be added with each costing £100, which means a full five-room wireless audio system can be had for just under £550 - which rivals the excellent SONOS system.
The ArmourHome Eos is available now.
