Sony has launched two new AV receivers:
The STR-DA6400ES is the company's first network server model. DLNA certified; it lets you stream music, photos and video from your networked PC or media server and can access the internet radio service SHOUTcast.
Audio can be distributed to up to three rooms simultaneously while video can be sent to a second zone and controlled by a second-zone GUI.
A 7.1-channel model, it sports an abundant six HDMI inputs (one of which is front-mounted for quick easy access for HD cameras and the like) and two HDMI outs, all supporting 1080/24p, x.v.Color and Deep Color Blu-ray.
Full HD audio capacity is a given with everything from Dolby TrueHD to DTS High Resolution Audio decoding catered to, all buffered by Sony's HD Digital Cinema Sound processing.
Digital Cinema Auto-Calibration ensures 'the perfect set-up' by fine tuning the 7.1-channel output to your speakers and their position within the room.
The STR-DH800 tops the new STR-DH range, which has replaced the existing STR-DG line.
Supporting Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio as well as x.v.Color, Deep Color and bi-amping, there are four HDMI inputs and a single output.
There is also support for S-AIR, Sony's wireless rear speaker solution to add to your existing configuration.
A budget multi-channel receiver, the DH800 goes on sale in July while the altogether higher-spec'd STR-DA6400ES arrives in May. Prices are TBC.
