Loudspeaker maker Crystal Audio has revealed its new TX-2 5.1 surround sound speaker package which promises THX certification at an affordable price.
The system is based around the THX Ultra2 certified TX-T2SE floorstanders with their deep, but narrow, cabinets, which allow them to deliver impressively low frequencies without dominating a room, the company claims.
It has two 16.5cm Kevlar/fibre weave drivers and Crystal Audio's own 'free air' 25mm, silk-dome, Neodymium tweeter, which sits in its own rigid, spherical, aluminium enclosure on top of the cabinets.
These surround the THX Select certified THX-Centre channel and the THX-D rear channel speakers offering bipolar radiation from the drivers in phase. Also in the package is a 200W active sub, with a 30.5cm long throw driver incorporating a treated paper cone.
The Crystal Audio TX-2 system is available now in a choice of black ash or gloss black finishes for £1,399.
