Arcam Alto loudspeaker

Hot on the heels of the recently released Solo all-in-one hi-fi system, Arcam has designed a new loudspeaker desgined to accompany it.

The Alto is a two-way design powered by a 100mm glass-fibre mineral-loaded bass/mid driver and a 25mm cotton dome carbon-loaded high frequency driver. It also features front-facing ports and gold biwiring speaker terminals, and although it's been developed to partner the Solo, it can be paired with any amplifier with a power output of 20 to 100 watts (8 ohms).

The Alto is available in a choice of real wood cherry or maple veneer and costs £399 a pair. You can find more information at www.arcam.co.uk.
