Marantz has announced an extensive new line of hi-fi and home cinema equipment, ranging from those working on a tight budget through to AV connoisseurs wanting a high-end set-up.
Marantz's new flagship AV reciever is the the SR9600 THX Ultra2 which the company claims is the best surround receiver it's ever made. The SR9600 boasts a power output of 140 watts RMS from each of its seven current-feedback amplifiers and sports a wide array of connections and outputs along with a 4 DSP chipset. Also available in Marantz's AV receiver range are the 80-watt SR4600 and the slightly more powerful 90-watt SR5600.

| DV9600

The multiformat DV9600 is the top performer in Marantz's new DVD player range. It features a 216MHz/14-bit video DAC together with NSV to provide improved video performance and its HDMI 1.1 port offers high definition resolutions scaled up to 1080p. It's compatible with virtually all digital video and audio disc formats (DVD-V, DVD-A, SACD, SVCD, CD, MP3, JPEG, DVD-R/RW) in an effort to make it an all-round player for music and movies, both in stereo and multichannel surround sound.
Also released are the DV4600, DV6600 and DV7600 players. The DV4600 will handle DVD, CD, CD-Rs/RWs MP3, WMA and JPEG, and the higher-spec DV6600 offers all this as well as DVD-V, DVD-A, SACD and DivX playback (and features an HDMI output). The DV7600 is similar to the DV6600 but offers progressive scan in NTSC as well as PAL and like the DV9600, it'll play SVCDs.

The PM7001 integrated amplifier delivers 2x70 watts into 8 ohms, and features symmetrical circuits for perfect image balancing and uses customized components and current feedback HDAMs designed to preserve the music's dynamic structure, tonal quality and stereo image. The PM7001 also boasts a two-stage construction concept, short, symmetrical signal paths and a phono MM input.
There's a signature edition too, (the PM7001 KI) which is similar in spec to the PM7001 but features a copper-plated chassis and rear panel designed to reduce signal-degrading electromagnetic interference. Also available are the less powerful 2x30-watt PM4001 amplifier and its corresponding signature edition, the PM4001 OSE (said to give a tighter bass, clearer stereo images and a wider sound stage than the stadard PM4001).
Marantz has also released a player specifically designed for SACD playback, the SA7001. The SA7001 is claimed to feature fast, low-noise and lower impedance symmetric circuits with high quality parts. It too has a signature model, the SA7001 KI, which also features SACD/CD playback but also sports a copper-plated chassis and rear panel to reduce signal-degrading electromagnetic interference, along with a dual layer chassis and solid aluminum front panel. For standard CD playback there's the CD5001 and signature edition CD5001 OSE, both of which are capable of reading CD-R and CD-RW discs.

The ST7001 is Marantz's flagship tuner, featuring a dual band DAB tuner to cover both frequency bands (L & III) available for DAB designed to make sure that you don't miss out on any important station. The ST7001 will double up as an FM and AM tuner as well and features 100 programmable preset stations. Also released is the ST6001 FM/MW/LW stereo tuner, boasting a total of 60 presets.
