LG Electronics has announced a new line of plasma and LCD screens designed to enhance your home cinema experience.
The latest in its plasma range is the 42 inch 42PX4DV, aimed at those working on a tight budget. The 42PX4DV boasts a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,500cd brightness as well as a film filter (which is said to eliminate glare and double images) and the new XD engine which converts analogue signals to HD grade picture quality. The 42PX4DV is due for release now (price yet to be confimed), with a 50 inch version arriving in the autumn.

For LCD buyers, LG Electronics has unveiled the LP1 series, offering the highest HD level resolution possible and a 178 degree optical viewing angle. The series includes an X-Studio function allowing you to view slide shows, play MP3 files by inserting your memory card to the slot engraved on the TV.
LP1 series models also feature AVL (Automatic Volume Level) and SRS TruSurround, which is claimed to provide consistent and live realistic surround sound without the need for any additional theatre system. Furthermore, all models include a built-in set-top box for digital broadcasts and they can also be used as a monitor for you PC. The LP1 series will come in three sizes, 42 inches, 37 inches and 32 inches.
