Inspire Vivid LP12
Acrylic turntable specialist Inspire has developed an upgrade for the Linn LP12 which involves replacing the subchassis and armboard with acrylic for £699 including fitting. It also offers new laminated wood surrounds with some appealing veneers for the same turntable.

Woodsong LP12 surround
Cymbiosis is bringing in Woodsong LP12 surrounds. These are solid hardwood surrounds made in Idaho by a guy called Chris Harban who scours the world for the best looking pieces of lumber and painstakingly builds them into beautifully finished retrofit surrounds for the Linn LP12. Prices start at £599.

Cyrus Mono X300
Cyrus has revised its range-topping monoblock power amps by converting them to run entirely without feedback. This approach, while popular with valve amps, is uncommon in the solid state world and delivers a cleaner sound with lower noise. There are two Mono X power amps, the 200-watt X200 at £1,700 each and 300-watt X300 for £2,500 each.

Cabasse Pacific 3 SA
Now part of the Canon empire, Cabasse launched its semi-active Pacific 3 SA. This sculpted floorstander has onboard amplification for the bass driver but leaves the rest of the range for an amp of your choice. An approach that makes for excellent low-frequency control and an easy-to-drive speaker, the price: €12,000.

Kuzma Stogi S12
Frank Kuzma has made a 12in version of his entry-level Stogi S tonearm for £899. This can be used on decks like the Stabi S shown here as well as turntables designed for 9in arms if you use an optional outrigger base. A VTA tower similar that on the Stogi Reference will also be made available soon.

Avalon Transcendant
Audiofreaks demonstrated the latest addition to the Avalon loudspeakers line dubbed Transcendant. This two-way, three-driver design is a little smaller than an Indra and has the woofer from that model, while the tweeter is from the Ascendant and the design is based on the Time range-topper. Price is therefore not low at £14,950. It's shown here with the new Karan Acoustics KS600 power amp (£16,000).
