Fujitsu appears to have an unquenchable thirst for making ever-larger plasma screens. Last month it announced the release of three new additions to its 40 series plasma range, and now its gone a step further and released two more - the P55XHA40 55 inch and P63XHA40 63 inch screens.
Fusing Fujitsu's proprietary AVM II ('Advanced Video Movement-II') and eALiS ('extended Alternate Lighting of Surfaces method') technology, the 16:9 widescreen, 1366 x 768 pixel P55XHA40 yields a healthy 900:1 contrast ratio and 1000 cd/m2 brightness. It also features an extensive range of future proof inputs including HDMI (HDCP compliant), two component video, S-Video, composite video, DVI-D (data only), one 15 pin D-sub VGA and three audio inputs.
The larger P63XHA40 is based on Fujitsu's original and highly-acclaimed 63 inch plasma screen, the P63XHA40 marries the AVM II video processor with a 1366 x 768 pixel, high-resolution panel, yielding an impressive 3000:1 contrast ratio and 1000 cd/m2 brightness. The screen also features the same array of connectivity options as the smaller P55XHA40.
Both models will be available from next month with the P55XHA40US retailing at £5,995 and the P63XHA40US a staggering £11,995. Further details on Fujitsu's full Plasmavision range can be found at www.fujitsu-general.co.uk'
