LG Philips has announced a new range of LCD panels. The premier model comes in at a whopping 47in with a True HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and a dramatic sounding contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Add to this a wide 178 degree viewing angle, 1.07 billion colours (are there really that many in existence?!), an 8ms response time and you have one fine sounding TV on your hands.
Elsewhere in the range you'll find a 26in panel with a resolution of 1366 x 728 and an 18,000:1 contrast ratio, a 15.4in panel with a resolution of 1440 x 900 and a 12.1in panel with a 1280 x 800 resolution and a 400:1 contrast ratio. Completing the range of six there are also two small panels at 8in and 7in designed to be used on navigational devices.
No word on prices, but don't expect the 47in model to come cheap. Available at some unbeknown point in 2007.
