Never one to do things by halves, hi-fi specialist Onkyo has unleashed no less than four new THX-certified 7.1-channel AV receivers onto the market, boasting full HD Ready specs and a raft of world-first features.
All new models will be available in the default black or silver and will sport HDMI 1.3a compatibility and all the 1080p HD delights it affords, with onboard decoding for HD audio formats like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD.
World firsts come with the inclusion (in the top two models) of Silicon Optix's HQV Reon-VX 1080p video processing, never before seen in a home cinema receiver, and Neural-THX Surround decoding for broadcasts and gaming on all models.
As you would expect from a manufacturer of Onkyo's heritage, further features and connectivity options abound and are ample enough to cater to the most demanding enthusiast.
Out now is the £800 TX-SR805; the £1,000 TX-SR875 and £1,400 TX-SR905 are both available mid July; last and, actually, least is the £600 TX-SR705 due mid August. Plenty to choose from then.
