Despite releasing the excellent KEF Picoforte One only a month or two ago, KEF hasn't rested on its laurels but instead has unleashed the Picoforte Three upon us. And no, we don't know what happened to the Picoforte Two.
Claiming to kick out an even bigger, high quality hi-fi sound than its predecessor, the Three uses the same electronics as the One but 'embraces' new higher performance speakers.
The new speakers incorporate larger 11.5cm drivers and a 19mm tweeter in the new 3kg all-metal cabinets, and are ported for deeper bass. They also implement KEF's proprietary and proven Uni-Q technology for maximised sound dispersion.
Each Three component, including the dock and 50-watt Class-D amplifier, is milled from die-cast zinc and clad in high gloss black or white for the best sound reproduction as well as high class looks.
The Picoforte Three is compatible with every current iPod, plus all other MP3/CD/MiniDisc players via the 3.5mm jack. There's also an optional subwoofer connection and S-Video for hooking up to a screen.
Available now, the Picoforte Three retails for around £400.
