THIEL Audio is releasing its smallest and most affordable sub yet in the shape of the SS1 SmartSub.
Part of a new line designed to be the ultimate solution for low-frequency reproduction in home theatres and music sound systems, the SS1 mounts a 500-watt amplifier and a longthrow 10in woofer in a compact cabinet to create an output of up to 99dB at 20Hz and up to 106dB at 30Hz. Pretty impressive stats for a compact sub.
The SS1 incorporates THIEL's patented SmartSub technology and can be used with either the companion integrator or with passive Subwoofer Crossovers.
“The THIEL SmartSub products are the most technologically advanced bass systems ever developed for seamless sonic integration in home audio and video sound systems,' says THIEL president Kathy Gornik. 'It eliminates the major problems and limitations that conventional subwoofers have in matching the system's main speakers and the room environment.”
The SS1 is available in a range of 12 wood veneer finishes plus a painted satin black, with the further option to special order almost any desired finish.
