LG has launched the GGW-H20L and GGC-H20L in the UK and is claiming the former to be the world's fastest Blu-ray rewriter.
The GGW-H20L can read and write Blu-ray at a speedy 6x with plenty of room to store the data.
According to Fiona Landsberg, marketing manager at LG, 'With the increased volume of data available today, the need for alternative storage options is rising rapidly. Not only are we choosing to store more data, such as digital images, music files and video, but we also continue to be bound by record keeping regulations, all of which take up precious space'.
Also released is the GGC-H20L, which also allows users to read Blu-ray at 6x, but also HD-DVD media at 3x and read and write CDs. Sounds better, but the GGC doesn't have the ability to write to Blu-ray unlike its sibling.
No news on price yet but both arrive soon.
