Ixos' PowerStation XHP420

Ixos is best known for its cabling and wall mount systems, but it also manufactures power surge protectors like the XHP420.

Granted, it's ugly as sin, but if you've ever suffered a power surge in your home electric current then you'll know its practical benefits outweigh its less than flattering styling.

The XHP420 PowerStation has been specifically designed to protect flatscreen TVs from lethal power surges and annoying contaminated electrical supplies that muddy the images on HD displays, make systems work harder and can shorten the lifespan of your kit.

Internally, there's an Ixos Linear EMI/RFI Noise Filter and IXOSAFE technology that Ixos claims, 'in the vast majority of cases, no matter what surges the XHP420 gets hit by, the unit can be reset to ensure it continues protecting equipment'.

Linear AC filtering technology all but clears up annoying radio and electromagnetic noise, thus ensuring a clean power supply that improves AV quality, particularly with 1080p screens and projectors.

A slick little bracket mounting system also saves your blushes as it means the Ixos can be mounted on the back of the set or on the wall out of sight and thus out of mind - until you turn the TV on of course.

The XHP420 is on sale now for £160.
