Audio specialist Boston Acoustics has released its first iPod docking system with the Duo i-Stereo.
A logical move for the well-respected audio company, this dock promises 'strict attention to detail' and 'paramount' sound quality.
The i-Stereo employs two Boston 3.5in drive units in ported individual enclosures with the company's BassTrac system to 'deliver clean sound at all levels'. The iPod circuits and amplification are all claimed to be 'hi-fi quality', while the precision FM tuner picks up good reception from even the weakest stations.
All iPods bar the Shuffle are charged as they sit and play in the top-mounted dock, and video playback is available from the Classic and iPhone models.
The Duo features dual independent alarm clocks with radio and buzzer options, soft lighting that automatically dims as the room does, a 360-degree snooze bar and ten FM and five AM station presets.
The soft-touch cabinet features moulded rubber controls with a big blue backlit LCD screen and, in Boston's usual move, can be customised for an extra £15 from the standard black or white colour schemes with 'chilli pepper' red, 'glacier' light blue, 'rosebud' pink or 'Spanish moss' light green grille options.
Connections stretch to dual front-mounted auxiliary inputs for hooking up other media devices and headphones, rear-mounted line level RCA phono input and outputs and a composite video out.
The bundled credit card remote is even magnetised so you can stick it to the fridge instead of losing it down the back of the sofa!
Available now, Boston Acoustics' first iPod dock retails at £170.
