The Disney Company has announced that it has sold more than five million films via Apple's iTunes online download store.
CEO and president Rob Iger revealed the impressive stat during the company's third quarter financial conference call.
Iger commented on the importance of the download figures to Disney, 'Unless we occupy space in those platforms, the company, and other companies in the traditional media space, will be marginalized… More and more people are migrating online or to their computer to access both information and entertainment'.
He added, logically enough, that 'the Walt Disney Company would be served well by having a very strong presence in that environment'.
