Clearaudio's new decks

Clearaudio has developed two new products designed to enhance your vinyl experience; the Ambient analogue turntable and the Satisfy Carbon Directwire tonearm.

The Ambient chassis consists of a high-tech sandwich of Panzerholz metal between two precision-machined aluminium plates. The main bearing uses a polished and hardened steel shaft running in a sintered bronze precision cap and the is motor mounted in its own separate plinth to isolate it from the main chassis. Also contained within the motor plinth is a custom version of Clearaudio Syncro, power regenerator and electronic speed controller. A backlit blue LCD displays the exact speed of rotation and the 40mm thick turntable platter is driven via a Clearaudio 'silent belt' said to reduce noise into the platter.

The Satisfy Carbon Directwire tonearm comprises a combination of magnetic bias compensation, sapphire and ceramic bearings. The twin-axis Carbon Directwire has been designed to offer high structural rigidity with ultra-low friction movement and boasts a woven carbon fibre arm tube and vertical bearing that uses a shaft made out of wolfram. The high precision headshell and full adjustability of the tone arm is designed to allow the accurate alignment of any cartridge type and the Directwire also features an unbroken run of Clearaudio's own Direct Wire from the cartridge to phono plugs. The cartridge pins are Clearaudio's own impedance matched sprung connectors, as fitted to other Clearaudio tone arms.

Both products are available now, with the Ambient costing £2,285 and the Satisfy Carbon Direct Wire priced at £555. More information can be found at: www.clearaudio.de
