We were a little surprised that last year's DVD-1910 mid-range DVD player didn't offer SACD or DVD-Audio compatibility, and for this year's model Denon has reversed that decision. And not only is the new DVD-1920 SACD/DVD-Audio compatabile but it also comes HDMI-equipped.
The 1920 incorporates a 216MHz, 11-bit video DAC for enhanced picture quality, as well as featuring the latest Faroujda DCDi PAL progressive scan option. As we've come to expect from Denon, the player will handle CDR/RW discs carrying MP3, WMA9 and MP3-VBR files and also has Family Photo Show capability with JPEG and Kodak Picture CD still photograph replay.
Another bonus is the price of £250 which is £50 cheaper than the 1910 on its release.
