Naim selects StremNet technology


Naim Audio launches NaimNet technology

Naim Audio has just announced it will utilise StreamNet technology from Austin-based company NetStreams, for equipping its Naimnet products to connect and operate over Internet protocol-based (IP) home and commercial networks.

StreamNet is a system that allows you to control a range of sources by enabling full bandwidth audio, metadata and control signals to be distributed digitally around the house on a home network. This network is the same that you'd have for connecting two or more computers to share an internet connection or a printer. It also allows easy system integration with AV, heating, lighting and security systems.

Naim has announced four new music servers to go with the NetStream. All four 24-bit capable servers can be NaimNet and RS232 control enabled and can deliver up to six streams of CD quality (bit for bit) audio across the network and to between one and four local outputs. NNT01 DAB/FM multi-tuner. Four DAB/FM tuners with four independent outputs. Can serve up to four users independently and played in as many rooms as required.
NNC01 multi-input preamplifier and room player. Digitises and streams up to four analogue sources to the network and controls the sources using infrared learning capabilities.
NNP01 room amplifier. Offers 110 watts per channel (4ohm) with 4 local inputs. The selected input can be streamed to all other rooms. AC power.
NNP01 concealed room amplifier. Offers 90 watts per channel (4ohm). AC or DC power option. Just 195mm wide it has four local input (2 digital, 2 analogue) Selected input can be streamed to all other rooms.
