Tech+Link Switch2 HDMI Control Centre

Tech+Link HDMI Switch2 HDMI Control Centres

What if you could send your beautifully crisp 1080p HD signal simultaneously to all your HDTVs around the home? Well, now it seems you can with the Tech+Link Switch2 HDMI Control Centre.

With a single HDMI input, the Tech+Link 2-into-4 HDMI Control Centre offers the flexibility of switchable dual HDMI inputs and four simultaneous HDMI outputs. For those with more money than sense than four HDTVs, the Tech+Link HDMI 1-into-8 Control Centre gives simultaneous HDMI AV signal feeds to eight outputs.

Audio and Video switching is lossless and active HDMI repeater circuits mean that both HDMI input and HDMI output cables can be up to 15m in length to give up to 30m run from source to TV displays for larger homes. Both types of Control Centre are HDMI 1.2 compliant and can be daisy-chained to produce even more simultaneous HDMI outputs for a potentially infinite amount of TVs. Crazy eh...

Previous HDMI switch boxes such as those in our Buyer's Guide only featured multiple inputs but only one HDMI output, in deference to the body which regulates HDMI specs. The Switch2 however is apparently fully compliant with HDCP copy protection, which should prevent it being used to make bit-perfect copies of HD material.

The Switch2 HDMI Control Centre isn't available in the shops (yet), but current trade pricing is £229 ex-VAT for the Tech+Link Switch2 1-into-8 HDMI Control Centre (HD1180UK) and £249 ex-VAT for the Tech+Link Switch2 2-into-4 HDMI Control Centre (HD2140UK).
