Here's a gadget so desirable it would leave even smugmeister Jeremy Clarkson hot under his perm; an AV system co-designed by none other than Italian gas-guzzling gods Ferrari.
Although looking nothing like an actual Ferrari (because that would be seriously naff, no?) the retro-inspired Meridian F80 comes in a range of five official Ferrari colours (more to follow later in the year) and crams in a ton of features including a DAB/FM/AM tuner and CD player with support for CD-Audio, MP3 and WMA music discs. Heck it'll even play DVD discs, too.
With a set of of three power amps delivering over 80 watts to the two front speakers and integral rear subwoofer, all you need to add is a telly and you've got a proper little home cinema set-up.
There's plenty of connections too, including S-Video and composite outputs (although no HDMI - grr), two assignable antenna sockets, 3.5mm digital optical/analogue headphone out, 3.5mm aux analogue input, 3.5mm digital optical input and even an iPod mini-DIN input. Rounding off the package is a smart-button remote (complete with Ferrari badge, natch).
Out now for £1,495, we're hoping to do a review of the Meridian F80 shortly.
