Chord Company launches Crimson interconnect

Product image of the Chord Company Crimson interconnect

Cable specialist The Chord Company is set to replace its Chord Calypso and Chord Chrysalis leads with a new entry-level interconnect, the Chord Crimson.

The Chord Crimson, when configured for use with RCA plugs, is a semi-balanced design and like the Chord Cobra 3 and the Chord Indigo uses a full floating shield.

The Chord Crimson is made from two sets of multi stranded oxygen-free conductors, spaced with low density polyethylene. Each conductor is surrounded by an oxygen-free copper shield while the outer jacket is a mix of soft PVC with an extruded hard PVC outer casing. Gold plated RCA plugs complete the design.

Pricing is as follows; Crimson RCA to RCA pair 0.5 metres - £35; Crimson RCA to RCA pair 1 metre - £38; Crimson 2 RCA to Din 1 metre - £43; Crimson 4 RCA to Din 1 metre - £59; Crimson Subwoofer 1 RCA to 1 RCA 3 metre - £29.

Sorry but what is a 'semi balanced' cable, by definition a phono lead is unbalanced.
This is 'snake oil' at it's best, unbeleivable. Even in it's own description it is basically described as a length of coax cable with a phono plug at each end. I'm sure I could go into many euphemisms about a 70p nickle lead and make it sound as good, particually in the knowlege that no one could hear the difference.
So I know what to do if I get a bit hard up, buy in a nice looking cable from China, write some complete nonsence about it, write some phoney reviews, and make 1000% mark up.
Money for old coax !!
