Just unveiled at the Munich Show is high-end technophile Denon's latest range of format neutral AV kit - no HD DVD this or Blu-ray that, but instead a simple (or indeed ridiculously complex) blend of technologies aimed at delivering ultra high-end HD performance for everyone with a large enough wallet.
Of most interest is the AVR-4308 DAB HD Network Wi-Fi 7.1 AV receiver, the first to wear Denon's new 'wave' style industrial design aimed at softening the aesthetic edges of the company's home cinema range.
That's not to say it's softened its grip on technology however, with the 4308 offering complete HD support both visually and sonically, 1080p audio upscaling for True HD sonics, DAB tuner, photo-real Graphic User Interface, Wi-Fi for multi-room capability, iPod compatibility and the company's ubiquitous DenonLink interface.
Comprehensive barely covers it, which makes that £2,000 price tag much more affordable. The only downside? We'll have to wait 'til September to see it in the flesh.
