Purveyors of all AV things high-end, Arcam has hurled the AVR280 into the world with the haughty claim that it's the company's highest-performing entry-level receiver to date. And judging by the serious looks, build and sheer number of buttons on the front, who are we to argue?
With many design elements pinched from the development of the awesome-sounding, £3,750-costing FMJ AV9, the AVR280 is built for films and tuned for, er, tunes with full specification for custom installs.
Spec wise the HD-prepped Arcam supports two-way 1080p HDMI auto switching and kicks out 7x80W RMS per channel with all driven simultaneously for Ultimate Power! There's also an additional audio and video output for second room playback, all for £1,200
