Onkyo DR-815 micro CD/universal DVD receiver

Onkyo DR-815

Onkyo's DR-815 is what the Japanese manufacturer likes to call a 'shoebox' system, designed to be secreted away for minimal intrusion. It's actually an iPod-compatible two-channel desktop receiver designed to deliver high quality audio and video, with 2.1 audio support so you can add your own speaker set-up. The universal DVD transport is compatible with almost every disc format including DVD-Audio and video, SACD and CDs encoded with MP3, WMA and JPEG files.

The usual and always impressive Onkyo features are all in attendance with all channels sporting 192KHz/24-bit D/A converters augmented with Vector Linear Shaping Technology for ultimately clear audio output. Support for 5.1 channels is also taken care of via pre-outs for adding external power amps, in case you're hankering after the full surround sound experience rather than settling for Dolby Pro-Logic II. Also featured is a 30-preset AM/FM tuner with clock radio if you fancy a ridiculously highly specced wake-up call, while the iPod compatibility is absolutely maximised with full remote control via the Onkyo remote. The Doctor retails for £275 in trademark silver - no speakers included in the price though.

Have trawled the interwebs, but cannot find a review for this machine. What Hi-Fi gave it 5 stars, but I can't pull the actual review. Does anybody know anything? At all? Thanks
