High-end AV specialist Arcam has finally launched the FMJ MS250 MusicFile Server after three years hard graft in the R&D labs of Arcam Towers. Touted as the first ever device that offers the functionality and computer-orientated features of a computer with the sound quality of Arcam's usual audiophile kit, the company is looking to break new ground.
The FMJ MS250 houses a 400GB hard drive capacious enough to store up to 640 uncompressed CDs in compressed audio, which equates to around 80,000 tunes. It also offers wireless support for four independent audio zones as a music server hooked up to a computer or speaker system alongside access to internet radio and its tens of thousands of radio stations.
Fully prepped for a custom install as well as more conventional set-ups, it retails at £3,000, but it looks like you'll be getting a lot of bang for your buck.
