Denon has made the decision not to include DVD-A or SACD capability in its
latest midrange DVD player, believing the money is better spent on other
aspects of standard DVD and CD replay. Eschewing the 'universal player'
route may limit the DVD-1910's appeal in some quarters, but Denon believes
that market will be prepared to pay more for its DVD-2910 and DVD-3910
players (£600 and £900 respectively).
The new player is however Denon's most affordable DVI (Digital Visual
Interface) DVD Player, and features HDCP Digital Video Out, twin 54MHz
high-end video DACs, the latest Faroujda DCDi FLI-2301 PAL progressive scan
(best picture choice for most plasma and LCD screens), RGB on Scart (best
picture choice for standard TVs), S-Video and component outputs. It's
available either in black, or with an aluminium front panel.
