Stalwart Brit manufacturer PURE has launched the soporific sounding Siesta, a well-priced new DAB and FM clock radio that claims to have green credentials.
Luckily, PURE's credentials stretch beyond turning its washing down to 30 degrees, as is the current planet-protecting trend. In fact, the Siesta has a standby consumption of less than 1W, and that only rockets to 2W in use, justifying its inclusion as part of PURE's EcoPlus range.
All packing is made from at least 70 per cent recycled material and all documentation printed on completely recycled paper. Hell, it's even using Soya-based inks.
So will it really make a difference and stem the rising tides? Doubtful, but every little helps and to go with those green credentials is PURE's typically excellent sound quality and pocket-friendly price. That'll be £50 to you sir.
