Yamaha NX-U10

HANNspree XV range
Cover your ears and turn it up for Yamaha's NX-U10 USB speaker, because it's the world's loudest no less. Don't reach for the earplugs quite yet though, because despite its lofty claims it's still unlikely to trouble your B&Ws in the corner.

Maxing out at a very respectable 10 watts for each of its two channels, it achieves a significant increase on the usual maximum 0.5 watts per channel a standard USB can create thanks to the revolutionary Charged Capacitor Amp. Yam's tremendous SR-Bass technology also cranks the bass to teeth-chattering levels (probably). There's also battery power if you want to take it on your travels and a 3.5mm headphone jack makes it compatible with your MP3 players, promising CD-quality playback.

Expect the NX-U10 to arrive sometime before Christmas for £150.
