Humax PVR-9200T range

Humax PVR-9200T range

Digibox manufacturer Humax has become the first to offer Freeview Playback Group 2 features on its PVR-9200T digital recorder range, including the PVR-9200TB and PVR-9200TS models.

What on earth does that mean? Well, it means Freeview viewers will have access to the latest recording features, most notable of which is the superb Sky-born Series Link that enables viewers to record an entire TV series at the touch of a button.

Other updates include Split Recording, which enables users to record programmes split in two by the likes of news bulletins - great for films where ITV still ludicrously insists on sticking the news in half-way through.

The last really interesting add-on is alternate instance recording, which notifies you if there's a recording clash and suggests an alternative time if one programme is repeated at a later date. Humax has stated that existing PVR-9200T owners will benefit from the updates via an automatic, over-the-air software download, while the new models will be available for around £300.
