Denon AH-D5000 mahogany headphones

Evesham Technology in administration

Everyone's favourite audiophile brand has taken one small step for the company but one giant leap for music-kind by returning to the headphone market with a set of cans so sexy, The Sun should be hassling for a page three shot.

'Designed and voiced' by Denon's best hi-fi engineering team, the AH-D5000s are closed 'phones that use advanced engineering techniques and polished mahogany capsule housings to create a naturally warm and resonant tone.

Denon has really gone for the high-end market here using the latest responsive microfibre diaphragm technology, special acoustic optimiser and only the very best cabling to ensure the purest sonic performance, while the cans have been designed for long listening sessions and so are ultra comfortable.

Retailing for a cool £500, they had better sound every bit as good as they look. But we've little doubt they will.
