Budget brand Goodmans looks sure to ruffle Mr Murdoch's feathers with the launch of its two latest digital TV recorders, both of which suffer from names so confusing we wonder if anyone will ever be able to buy them by name.
First up is the GHD8020F2, a £130 80GB hard drive-laden model that offers up a respectable 35 hours of digital recording. It has one touch digital set-up and is due in the shops this September.
The as yet unpriced but better specced GHD1621F2 model arrives this October with a 160GB hard drive capable of storing over 70 hours of viewing pleasure. It also features twin tuners, enabling viewers to watch one channel while recording another, a la Sky+.
Both models look pretty swanky, though the latter's mirror finish is definitely the premium pick. As DTRs, each offers Sky+ functionality like pause, rewind and fast forward live TV alongside series linkage for recording entire series with one press of a button.
The big boon however is that neither requires a monthly subscription nor separate Freeview box, as it's all bundled into one good looking package.
Vive la revolution!
