Humax LP32-TDR1 & LP40-TDR1 TVs

By Duncan Madden

Humax LP40-TDR1

Major set-top box manufacturer Humax has announced two new Freeview playback LCD televisions in the shape of the LP32-TDR1 and LP40-TDR1. And we have to say, we're impressed with the styling, especially on the 40in model which, dare we say it, has a touch of the Bang & Olufsen about it. In the picture at least. Both models promise the very latest one-touch recording features with twin-tuner digital recorders making them space saving and aesthetically satisfactory one-box solutions.

Incorporated Freeview playback features include schedule tracking and auto-buffering for accurate recording in the face of unscheduled transmission changes, live pause, rewind and fast-forward. No mention of a Series Link style one-touch one-series recording set-up though.

Each model houses a 160GB hard drive capacious enough for around 80 hours of recording and offers picture in picture viewing, digital text, CI slot for channel upgrades through Pay TV and HDMI connectivity for any HD-toting peripherals you may have.

The 32-incher will retail at £700 and the 40-incher at £1,000 with no specific high street date yet released.

I`ve got the 40" and it freezes on a daily if not hourly basis, so frustrating.I would recomend no-one buys this t.v. A friend has one on the wall in his pub and it works for an hour then spaz`s right out, graphics overheating issue it looks like. Only come across two of these units and are both faulty. Their support for their U.K. web site is in chinese and a response from Humax is pretty imposible to get so I would like to warn everyone DON`T BUY ONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! Oh and buy the way I am an electronic engineer also in the T.V., Aerial and Satellite business, be warned Humax have massive issues, stay away!
