New from the ever grandiose-sounding Hercules is the i-XPS 120 Outdoor, apparently the world's first officially certified water and dust resistant iPod speaker system.
Perfect for general outdoor use such as camping trips (because it always rains when you camp), the 120 has gained an IP 53 certification for its tough guy troubles. It's therefore resistant to dust particles and being sprayed with - rather than immersed in - water.
Your iPod sits snugly in the central watertight chamber allowing the 120 to kick out 12 watts RMS and 24 watts peak power. It can run on batteries, mains and 12-volt sources such as a car cigarette lighter.
It's compatible with the 30, 60 and 80GB models as well as the iPod Classic, 1st 2nd and 3rd gen Nano and the old school Mini (remember them!?). There's a line-in for hooking up your Shuffle or other generic music-playing device, though this obviously renders the tough guy veneer useless.
The Hercules I-XPS 120 goes on sale this month for £100.
