Brilliant we hear you murmur, another iPod dock - just what the market needs. But hold your cynical horses, because the iGroove SXT from US audio specialist Klipsch is, the manufacturer believes, a “genuinely innovative product”.
The iGroove SXT is a true two-way, stereo sound system that employs dual longthrow 2.5in woofers in a ported enclosure and dual three-quarter inch MicroTractrix horn-loaded tweeters.
Klipsch is apparently the only company in this category to utilise horn technology, delivering a “richer, more lifelike sound as well as producing more output using less energy”.
The iGroove accepts and charges any iPod via a range of universal inserts, while the Shuffle and other music makers hook up via the standard aux input. There's also an S-Video out for watching video on external monitors and an infrared remote.
The Klipsch iGroove SXT comes in black only with black cloth grille and is available now for £100 from the likes of Amazon and Carphone Warehouse.
