Marantz has announced its latest high-end disc spinner, the SA-11S2, which the company is placing as a more achievable version of its highly acclaimed SA-7S1 reference model.
Incorporating as much of the tech from the Sa7S1 as possible, the SA-11S2 also sports a 'plethora of new features and internal components for exceptional sound quality'.
Internally sits a pair of mono DACs each comprising four separate processors for both DSD and 24-bit PCM audio playback. These sit on a fully balanced dual-differential audio circuit that ensure symmetry between right and left channels for a cleaner stereo image.
Alongside Marantz's proprietary SA2 High Definition Amplifier Modules chosen for their 'outstanding speed and timbral accuracy' is the SACDM-1 mechanism module featuring a 10mm case of extruded aluminium for vibration-free build and a die-cast metal tray coated to prevent light reflection.
Also featured is a high-capacity super ring toroidal transformer to avoid enlarging the circuit loop, lowering capacity and chancing inconsistent operation and quality. Internal wiring is channelled into separate circuits to eliminate interference and the transformer in shielded by an aluminium shorting ring and copper-plated case to keep out that pesky magnetic radiation.
Even the low-noise LCD display can be turned off to minimise interference.
The full-metal chassis houses a double layer bottom plate, 5mm thick aluminium cover, shock absorbing feet and totally copper plated case to guard against electrical interference.
Available this month, the SA-11S2's 'orgy of engineering' will retail for £2,500.
