High-end audio manufacturer Naim's new n-Series speaker range is targeted at customers looking to establish or upgrade multichannel music or AV systems.
The three-strong range includes the n-SATS satellite, n-CENT centre speaker and the n-SUB remote-controlled subwoofer. There are also two accessories - a speaker stand (n-STAND) and wall-mount brackets (called, unsurprisingly, n-BRACKETS).
The n-SATs can be used as both front and rear channels of a multichannel system or as a pair for two-channel set-up. They are fully shielded and feature a 150mm pulp cone driver with low-loss suspension and a phase plug, combined with a 19mm annular radiator HF driver (the same as on Naim's Arriva speakers). The tweeter fits into a separate sealed enclosure and the five-litre cabinet benefits from proprietary mass-damping and heavy-duty internal wiring.
The n-CENT uses matching 150mm bass/mid units and an Arriva-style tweeter mounted in a robust enclosure. Each driver fits into its own separate chamber within the cabinet.
The n-SUB is primarily intended to complement the n-SATs and n-CENT as part of a multichannel system but it can also be used with a pair of n-STATS as part of a stereo system. Based around a 250mm long-throw driver and a powerful integral amplifier housed in a separate compartment, the subwoofer provides various set-ups for music and movies. It comes with a remote control for easy operation.
