UK audio and videophile specialist Arcam has unleashed the Solo 2.1 music and home cinema system that the company says “continues the Arcam tradition of being different”.
How? By looking and sounding brilliant, apparently.
Targeting music lovers first and movie lovers second, and specifically those who “can't stand the idea of five speakers”, the Solo 2.1 delivers a “major sound upgrade” on the £1,000 Solo Music with serious hi-fi music from all sources courtesy of dual 50-watt audiophile amplifiers.
On the film side there's a “videophile-grade” DVD player delivering “all the film quality of the £2,000 Solo Movie 5.1” with HDTV connectivity in the shape of a 720p/1080i video scaler, two into one 1080p full HD switching and DVD, SACD and DVD-A transport.
There's also a DAB and FM radio with alarm clock radio and iPod hook-up.
The Solo Movie 2.1 retails at £1,450 and is available now.
