It's been a bumper year for Sky+, with the final quarter of 2007 showing an increase in the number of households subscribing to Sky+ increasing to 3.131 million, a rise of 434,000.
The total number of Sky customers in the UK and Ireland rose by 167,000 to 8.832 million, meaning that 35 per cent of Sky customers now have Sky+.
Amazingly, 17 per cent of viewing in Sky+ homes is via the Time-Shift function, more than any other linear TV channel rendering it the number one UK on-demand service.
HD viewing has also increased to 422,000 Sky HD subscribers, up 60,000, while the number of homes with two or more Sky boxes has surged 120,000 to 1.531 million.
Even so, the company is estimated to suffer a £112million half year loss as a result of being ordered to downgrade its stake in ITV from 17.9 to 7.5 per cent as a result of a ruling by the Competition Commission.
