In case it had passed by your radar, 2008 is a Leap Year - the one time according to tradition when a woman can ask a man for his hand in marriage, specifically on 29 February.
So in a particularly slick marketing ploy, London posh shop Selfridges is to release a limited edition designer iPod Touch and Nano encased in a layer of hundreds of black Swarovski crystals with a diamond ring motif encrusted in 24 carat gold and silver crystals.
Described by Selfridges as 'a proposal 21st Century style', the store is also offering a customisation service in partnership with 'Bling My Thing' where names or initials can be incorporated into the design alongside a compilation of favourite songs pre-loaded before sale.
The limited edition Touch retails at an eye-watering £900 with the iPod Nano an equally pricey £750. Both will be available from the Carphone Warehouse concession inside Selfridges from 20 February.
